The Gift and the Curse

Here is a follow up post to my previous post 'Do you believe in magic?'. After days of getting the fenders rolled/cut, wheels cambered and the ride height dialed in we finally put the car on the ground and took it for a little of what we like to call "Friday Night Stuntin". After getting the car out of the garage and on the road, we soon realized that we had a huge rubbing issue in the rear. With it already being in the late hours of the day and the fact we have been working on the car for 2 days straight we said "forget it, let's go stunt!" After driving around the city for decent amount of time we ended up at QuikTrip to get some drinks and check on the tires. After further investigation of the tires we realized the fender was cutting into the sidewall. With this pretty much ending our night we took a few quick photos while at the QT before we headed back to the casa. After realizing that certain suspension components are complete garbage from factory we were forced to raise the car to an unattractive ride height. So we came to a decision to wait on the full feature photoshoot until we get the suspension in order.

This is the desired stance we want to get back to.

Rear shot of the fitment. Epic!

Volk Racing Formula lugs are sweet!

New sway bars, end links, P.S.R.S and rear lateral links from Perrin have been ordered. Hopefully this will allow us to bring the car back down to it's old stance instead of rally spec stance. Stay tuned!

Red Rocket

I was going to originally title this post "Bonertown, USA Population 1", but I figured that was a bit much lol. So this title will have to do. Sometime ago I had a rendezvous with my friend Mike, who I have known for awhile now and he tells me he's getting a new car and I'm thinking "Great! Another one?". This guys has more cars then a dealership's used car lot. In my curiosity I ask him what the car is and the obvious question of "Can I drive it?". He answered with "It's a S14" and the obvious answer of "No you can't drive it." With that established I was turned off to the whole thing, but he pleads with me to take some photos of it. So I think about it and I pull my camera phone out and ask "Where's the car?" Noticing he wasn't amused I ask to see the car and I'll make my decision, he agrees to this. Proceeds to take me to the garage, takes the car cover off and...'I. JIZZED. IN. MY. PANTS!' After a quick clean up I agree to take some photos of the car that weekend at Papago Park in Tempe, AZ. Fast forward to the day of the shoot and after being jocked harder then Jay-Z by everyone in the parking lot we finally finished the shoot. I think the photos came out pretty good, and I'm waiting for our reunion shoot soon. This time with different wheels, so stay tuned!

Do you believe in magic?

Last night I went over to my friend Justin's (Bling) house to help him with his car. After getting a call saying his wheels came in and he's going to need assistance putting them on and at this time I was a bit worried of his intelligence level, I was sure my friend didn't need help installing wheels. I headed down to his casa after work and to my amazement I see this:

WTF?! Fender roller matched with Heatgun...what's going on here?

Shortly followed by:

Then by this:

After hours of hard working we stopped at Cafe de Blingo and had a very delicious and aesthetically good looking snack.

Stay tuned! Photoshoot is on deck.

Killing it!

Check out the Twins Turbo built Viper, this thing is a freaking monster. It's purpose built for road racing and it's estimated to put down an astronomical amount of horsepower. How much is astronomical...try 2,000hp.

West coast is the best coast!

So I went to California over the weekend to visit my sister and celebrate my mom's birthday (happy b day mom!). Didn't do to much while I was there, just kicked it with the in-law and watched the Lakers smash on Bulls and had a few beers. When I actually went out I saw a few interesting things.

Dawn Of The Dead?

With me being a huge Zombie fan there's no way in hell I'm going to sleep on Resident Evil 5's launch. With that being said, I picked up the game over the weekend and I'm blown away by the graphics and sheer terror that the game brings. I don't get scared that easily, but there were times during online Co-op with my friend where I was yelling over the mic: "What the hell is THAT!" or classics like "Run! Get to the CHOPPA!!". As far as the game goes, it's amazing. The graphics are stunning, online play is fun and requires a lot of teamwork to get through certain areas. The main menus and setting up online games are kinda wack, as Capcom is barely busting into the online playing scene. But the fact that you can throw a grenade and blow a hole in the wall as well as paint the room with Zombie blood and body matter makes up for that. I could go on for a good minute telling you the pros and cons of the game, but my only suggestion is to go pick it up. It's a must have for any real Zombie fan.

Oh did I mention I also picked up the collectors edition of Fallout 3? I didn't? Well here it is. I heard good things about this game. And they were all true. This game is freaking amazing. The graphics are intense and the game offers a lot of room to do just about ANYTHING. With your actions depending on how the game turns out will have you playing a totally different game then what your friends are. Collectors edition comes with some neat stuff too. Included is an awesome vintage looking lunch box, a making of Fallout 3 DVD, Artwork book, Fallout 3 game disc, and let's not forget a sweet Vault 101 bobble head!

The Lonely Islands - On a Boat feat. T-Pain

This song is full of epic win! Make sure you watch it in HD too.

¡Mierda caliente!

To set the record straight: Coupes > Hatches. Now that we have that out the way let's move on. During my time as a photographer I have shot some of the hottest hatches in AZ and I just thought I show a bit of love. First car belongs to my friend Chris over at Element Motorsports out of Chandler, AZ. The second belonged to my friend Kaniel, who unfortunately sold the car shortly after doing our photoshoot. Check out these photos, which have been remastered. Since I shot these photos over a year ago, I was still using my Rebel XT lol. Enjoy!

OMGBBQ?! SR powered Corolla AE86

Met up with my friend Efrain a while back to take some photos of his SR'd Corolla before he sold it. Never got around to posting the photos up. Well here they are so check 'em out! Enjoy!

Unfortunately the project has been scraped, but the good news is instead of selling the car as a whole Efrain opted to sell the chassis but keep the motor. So watch out for Efrain's new SR'd swapped Datsun 510 on the streets hopfully soon! Should be to legit to quit!

3...2...1 Launch!

Well I finally jumped on the bandwagon and made myself a blog. I'll update this as much as I can. Aside from photos, expect an array of all that is fresh. From local events to upcoming movies. To start things off for the first post I'll throw some recent snaps that I've taken. Enjoy!

Alex's S14 with RB25DET swap, is pretty damn dope if I say so myself!

You could eat out of this engine bay. Super clean!

That's it for this post. I'm going through my 2 years of subscriptions to Modified right now looking for my features. Once I find all of them I'll post up some of my editorial work. Stay tuned! If you get a chance check out the team blog and show some love, http://teamtopflight.blogspot.com/!
