Ken Block Gymkhana 2: The Infomercial

It's no secret that Ken Block is the most epic driver when it comes to all wheel drive drifting. He shows us once more in this video that he is untouchable like Eliot Ness.

Trip to California - D1GP x El Toro

Now before I start this off I must apologize for the lack of updates for those people that actually come to this blog. Thanks :) Now let's get to it!

As some of you may know I traveled to California for D1GP in Anaheim over the past weekend. I had a lot of fun at the event and hanging out with friends. I got some great shots and it was really cool seeing a big Arizona driver presence in the pits! Congrats to all the AZ drivers that qualified for the event! Shout out to all my homies I kicked it with in the media pit. Even the photographer that was being a buster and I nearly fought him over a hole in a fence :) .

I'll leave you with a few photos from D1GP and Dai's Drift Academy @ El Toro. Enjoy! Back to editing photos and video, stay tuned!

Out with the new and in with the old!

So I was browsing the usual blogs and then I came across my homie Lihnberg's blog. And I saw that him and a few friends were having a 35mm film battle. This interested me and I immediately went on a hunt to find my old Canon 35mm camera. Well I did find it and all I have to say is that it's on! lol This should be fun, so stay tuned.

Double Up!

Well today was a little slow at work so Brad and I decided to get some delicious treats. Enter Baskin Robins. Out of all the 31 flavors I picked my fav...Mint Chocolate Chip...with none other then a Rofl-Cone. This is just one event of getting treats on slow work days. We've been known to travel as far as Tempe to cop some tasty boba from The Streets. Like M.I.M.S said "BALLIN'!" lol (inside joke)

Two scoops please!

Double Boba HOLLLLAAA!!

Now that's what I call doubling up!

Spotted - 370Z

Spotted this on the way to go pick up some tires today. I have sort of a mixed feel for this car. I like the way the rear looks but honestly the front end looks like a fish. lol I hear from my sources the car is a blast to drive, yet the aesthetics are FTL and the power doesn't make up for the ugly looks. :Shrugs:

This one had wheels on it...interesting

Rockin that thang!

I had an opportunity to shoot with a friend who I went to school with, who just happens to be THE hottest girl I know. lol The shoot went very well and it was a lot of fun. Not to mention I got to experiment with some new lighting techniques, which I think look baller. I haven't finished editing the rest (get watermarks on and resizing) of the images, but when I do I'll post up a few more as I can't show all of them as some are for my website that I'm working on. (www.dmrproductions.com)

Stay tuned for this weekend, cause I'll be covering the Modified Tuner Shootout. So expect pics and hopefully some HD videos.

My Sox hat never looked so good!

I thought this was a cool angle.

That longboard is pretty dope.

I love the lighting on this one.

Let me get my theme music.

Now if I had theme music for this situation it would be "When Doves Cry". I want to say it's not as bad as it looks, but then I would be a god damn liar, it really is as bad as it looks. For the past couple weeks or so my hood has been bulging on the passenger side which caught my attention and I scratched my head about it but a couple minutes, but couldn't find anything that was causing the problem. Well I know now what the problem is. Needless to say the car is f*cked and I don't know if it can be repaired and if it can I predict epic money and gangster skills with a welder. Check the photos. Props to Mike for letting me use the Nikon D-Seven C notes.

P.s The strut tower bar saved my life.

How 'bout that!

I must say that I've had a very interesting and busy end of the week. With the release of the most anticipated movie of 2009 coming up I was anxiously awaiting the week to be over. With Thursday night upon us we purchased a midnight showing of Fast and Furious 4. We arrived to the local theatre hella early after hearing that there is suppose to be a line of epic proportions and some sort of "car show". Both of which were a complete stretch of the truth. There was no line and the "car show" consisted of 5 stock cars all of which were a complete failure, especially the 350Z with some whack ass vinyl wrap and super sunken battleship 17" wheels.

After waiting in line for 5 hours and messing with several AMC Theatre employees we finally were allowed in to see the movie we waited so long to see. Now for this next part, I'm going to give my opinion of the film. I don't want to spend to much time on this part, as I have a lot of ideas and opinions of things I would change or add to the film. In short, I liked the movie and thought it was by far the best of the saga. I feel certain things in the movie needed to happen to add depth to the story, but at the same time it added a very dark feel and meaningful layer to it which is something most F&F fans are not familiar with in movies they have seen. I think Justin Lin did a very good job at directing this film and most people have to take in account that each F&F film had a different director that is why each film as a different feel to it. With that said I highly recommend seeing the movie as it has tons of action sequences and it pays homage to the first film and I must say that the cars have come a long way since the first movie too!

Volks and F&F tickets, nothing better. Peep the time of purchase.

First in line! It's was approx. 7:00 pm when I took this photo.

The most epic "waiting in line" food

Saw it again on opening day.

After an event filled night, I was greeted on Friday with a new addition for my S13. Got them for a good price. I'll be sending these along with my brakes to get powder coated soon. So stay tuned.
Messed around and mounted a 205/40/17 on 17x9. Epic stretch

Hammering the fenders a little bit. Fenders will be rolled and car will be lowered soon. Photoshoot is also in order once the wheels and brakes are done.

2009 Formula D UPS Drift Truck.

Lol, jk. Check out this UPS package truck. It has a 400+ hp V8 swapped in it and has been "freshened up" if you will. Fresh paint, new cabin equipped with racing seats and Sparco steering wheel. It's even outfitted with full vinyl wrap. Was posted on March 30th so this could of been an early April Fool's joke, but the footage looks legit. Check it out for yourself!

The Gift and the Curse

Here is a follow up post to my previous post 'Do you believe in magic?'. After days of getting the fenders rolled/cut, wheels cambered and the ride height dialed in we finally put the car on the ground and took it for a little of what we like to call "Friday Night Stuntin". After getting the car out of the garage and on the road, we soon realized that we had a huge rubbing issue in the rear. With it already being in the late hours of the day and the fact we have been working on the car for 2 days straight we said "forget it, let's go stunt!" After driving around the city for decent amount of time we ended up at QuikTrip to get some drinks and check on the tires. After further investigation of the tires we realized the fender was cutting into the sidewall. With this pretty much ending our night we took a few quick photos while at the QT before we headed back to the casa. After realizing that certain suspension components are complete garbage from factory we were forced to raise the car to an unattractive ride height. So we came to a decision to wait on the full feature photoshoot until we get the suspension in order.

This is the desired stance we want to get back to.

Rear shot of the fitment. Epic!

Volk Racing Formula lugs are sweet!

New sway bars, end links, P.S.R.S and rear lateral links from Perrin have been ordered. Hopefully this will allow us to bring the car back down to it's old stance instead of rally spec stance. Stay tuned!

Red Rocket

I was going to originally title this post "Bonertown, USA Population 1", but I figured that was a bit much lol. So this title will have to do. Sometime ago I had a rendezvous with my friend Mike, who I have known for awhile now and he tells me he's getting a new car and I'm thinking "Great! Another one?". This guys has more cars then a dealership's used car lot. In my curiosity I ask him what the car is and the obvious question of "Can I drive it?". He answered with "It's a S14" and the obvious answer of "No you can't drive it." With that established I was turned off to the whole thing, but he pleads with me to take some photos of it. So I think about it and I pull my camera phone out and ask "Where's the car?" Noticing he wasn't amused I ask to see the car and I'll make my decision, he agrees to this. Proceeds to take me to the garage, takes the car cover off and...'I. JIZZED. IN. MY. PANTS!' After a quick clean up I agree to take some photos of the car that weekend at Papago Park in Tempe, AZ. Fast forward to the day of the shoot and after being jocked harder then Jay-Z by everyone in the parking lot we finally finished the shoot. I think the photos came out pretty good, and I'm waiting for our reunion shoot soon. This time with different wheels, so stay tuned!
